Creating a Legend: Art & Engineering at Harley-Davidson
TEMPORARY EXHIBITION
Creating A Legend: Art & Engineering At Harley-Davidson
Milwaukee, WI
This exhibition explores how art and engineering come together to create Harley-Davidson’s iconic motorcycles. It follows ideas from early sketches and aspirations through concept development, renderings, models, and prototypes, all the way to the final product.
Through material-driven displays, visitors discover the collaborative process behind more than 120 years of innovation. From pencil and paper to CAD, clay, and 3D printing, the exhibition highlights the tools, teams, and craft that transform ideas into machines with lasting emotional impact. The design of the exhibition itself showcases the wealth of talent behind Harley-Davidson while inspiring young people to be creative and spark an interest in design.
Inspired by what they see, visitors are invited to pick up a pencil and design their own bike at an interactive station, using tracing paper to layer iconic parts with new inventive features and colors.
